NY Times: Help for Some Homeowners


A broad settlement with banks could help people with home mortgages that are underwater — homes with values less than the size of the mortgage — by reducing or refinancing their loans. People who have already lost their homes to foreclosure because of abusive practices by banks would receive an average of $1,800 to $2,000 in compensation. Related Article »
